SAS Link and KLM Cityhopper explore closer operational cooperation
The two regional carriers are looking at ways to work together more closely as Air France-KLM moves to take majority control of SAS.

SAS Link and KLM Cityhopper are examining options for closer operational cooperation, according to a report from the Danish industry outlet Check-in. The two regional airlines are discussing tighter coordination in aircraft maintenance, joint use of spare parts and a coordinated approach to how their aircraft capacity is used.
The talks come against the background of Air France-KLM's plan to raise its stake in SAS. The Franco-Dutch group currently holds 19.9 percent and intends to increase that to 60.5 percent. The necessary regulatory approvals are expected in the coming months.
The takeover could open new possibilities for the regional carriers involved. The discussions are described as preliminary, with no decisions announced.
