American Airlines expands Flagship Dining access to more business-class flyers

American Airlines will open up its Flagship Dining restaurants to more passengers starting September 15, the carrier said. The sit-down service, located inside Flagship Lounges at Dallas/Fort Worth and Miami airports, has so far been limited to those flying in Flagship First.

That's changing. Travelers booked in Flagship Business Plus and Flagship Business will also be able to use the restaurants, as long as they're flying certain international long-haul routes, plus transcontinental and Hawaii services, according to the airline.

American is also rolling out a new four-course menu built around seasonal and regional dishes alongside the wider eligibility. The airline said the offering will include a wine and chocolate pairing put together by chef Thomas Keller.

There's also a Los Angeles component: American said it plans to reopen a Flagship Dining location at Los Angeles International Airport, targeting late 2026.

The changes are part of the airline's push to set its premium cabins apart through ground-based perks rather than relying solely on what happens inflight. No pricing or reservation details were disclosed as part of the expansion.
