Amsterdam Schiphol security staff strike action ends after deal
Security workers at Amsterdam Schiphol will not hold further walkouts after the airport operator, three security firms and two unions reached an agreement on working conditions.
Security staff at Amsterdam Schiphol will not strike again for now. The airport operator, security companies I-Sec, Securitas and Trigion, and the unions CNV and FNV agreed to improvements in working conditions.
The agreement covers adequate breaks and recovery time between shifts, a more balanced schedule for part-time staff, and more certainty over holiday requests, according to the publication. It also provides for a reduction in workload.
On 25 and 26 August, security staff stopped work several times for 15 minutes each. At points during those days, the walkouts led to longer waiting times at security checks.
