Arajet restarts direct Punta Cana–Guayaquil flights
Arajet has resumed nonstop service between Punta Cana and Guayaquil, with the airline saying its inaugural flights were sold out. The route returns Ecuador to the carrier's network from its Dominican hub.

Arajet has restarted nonstop service between Punta Cana and Guayaquil, Ecuador. The airline said the inaugural flights were 100 percent full.
The route targets leisure and business demand between the Dominican Republic and Ecuador, and adds international connection options out of the Dominican resort hub.
Punta Cana to Guayaquil flights run Mondays and Fridays. The return legs leave Guayaquil on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Passengers departing Guayaquil can also connect through Arajet's Punta Cana base to Cancun, Miami, Orlando and San Juan in Puerto Rico.
José Cabrera, the airline's vice president of communications and public relations, called the return to Guayaquil a significant step in its push into the Ecuadorean market. Full inaugural flights, he said, were a positive signal of the route's potential, and the service links Ecuadorean travellers to the Dominican Republic and to other Caribbean and North American points through the network.
Arajet did not give a figure for the number of seats sold on the first flights. The same report says the airline has announced a new direct route between Montevideo and Punta Cana.
