Swissport to build load control centre for Riyadh Air in Saudi capital

Swissport and Riyadh Air will set up a centralised load control centre in Riyadh within eight months, the ground handler says. The facility will handle weight and balance planning for the new Saudi carrier's domestic and international flights.

Swissport is working with Riyadh Air to establish a Centralized Load Control centre in Riyadh, the ground services company said. The facility is to begin operations within eight months.

According to Swissport, the centre will take over load planning for the new Saudi airline's flights at home and abroad. Its tasks will include calculating weight and balance and preparing loading documentation.

The two partners also plan to train Saudi specialists for this area of work. For Riyadh Air, the centre forms part of building its own operational structures.

Swissport has been active in Saudi Arabia for ten years. The company says it employs more than 6,000 people at 20 airports in the country.
