Archer and AEG announce downtown Los Angeles vertiport plan at L.A. LIVE

Archer Aviation and entertainment venue operator AEG plan to build a vertiport at L.A. LIVE, the downtown Los Angeles entertainment district AEG owns near Crypto.com Arena and the Los Angeles Convention Center. Under the agreement, Archer becomes the district's exclusive air taxi partner.

The companies disclosed no financial terms, construction timeline, or service start date. They said they have completed an initial feasibility study covering land use, airspace, power supply and community impact. A second phase is now reviewing operations and passenger experience. No city or federal approvals have been secured, according to the companies.

Archer calls the vertiport the first announced for downtown Los Angeles. It is presented as part of a larger planned network that would also include SoFi Stadium, the University of Southern California, and Hollywood Burbank Airport, with Hawthorne Municipal Airport serving as an operational hub. That list has changed since Archer was named official air taxi provider for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games in May 2025, when the network instead named the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles International Airport, Orange County and Santa Monica.

L.A. LIVE spans about four million square feet and is set to host 19 Olympic and Paralympic sports. The companies said the planned site would use charging equipment supplied by BETA Technologies through ACES, a consortium formed by Archer, BETA and Macquarie Capital in July 2026 that aims to build more than 250 charging sites by 2030.

As part of the announcement, Archer and AEG plan to display one of Archer's Midnight aircraft, painted in a Team USA livery, at L.A. LIVE.
