Austrian Airlines takes delivery of eighth A320 Neo

Austrian Airlines has taken delivery of its eighth A320 Neo, OE-LXG, ahead of the airline's original schedule.

The aircraft flew from the Airbus facility at Finkenwerder in Hamburg to Vienna on 30 September as flight OS1472, leaving Hamburg at 15:00 and arriving at Vienna Airport, its new base, at 16:45.

According to the carrier, the jet will spend the coming weeks at its technical base being brought up to the airline's own specification, including the fitting of Starlink high-speed internet and a cargo loading system.

Austrian Airlines expects to integrate the aircraft into scheduled operations from mid-October. It arrives roughly four weeks after the previous example, OE-LXF, the first in the fleet to be fitted with Starlink connectivity.
