Azul marks breast cancer awareness month with all-female crewed flight
Azul is launching a new edition of its "Outubro Rosa" breast cancer campaign with a special flight from Campinas to Fortaleza staffed entirely by women, the airline says.
Azul opened a new edition of its "Outubro Rosa" breast cancer awareness campaign on 1 October, the Brazilian carrier said. Flight AD2798 from Campinas to Fortaleza had an all-female crew, and women also worked in maintenance, ground handling and other jobs tied to the flight. One of Azul's pink-painted jets flew the route.
A cargo flight from Campinas to Manaus follows on 2 October. Women will hold the cockpit, loadmaster and cargo handling positions. Donation activities and further information are planned during October. Azul says it has backed early detection of breast cancer for 16 years.
