Berlin Brandenburg cuts costs after Ryanair base closure
Berlin Brandenburg airport has lowered its passenger forecasts for 2026 and 2027 after Ryanair announced it will close its base there, and is reviewing costs and deferring investments.

Berlin Brandenburg has lowered its passenger forecasts for 2026 and 2027 after Ryanair decided to close its base at the German capital's main airport.
The airline will shut the base on 24 October and roughly halve its flight offering there. The airport now expects 25.7 million passengers in 2026, down from 26.1 million the previous year, and 25 million in 2027 instead of the 27 million previously planned.
The airport is introducing a savings programme in response. All costs are to be reviewed and investments postponed.
