British Airways flight from Dublin declares emergency, lands safely at Heathrow

A British Airways flight from Dublin to London Heathrow declared an emergency on Tuesday morning. Flight BA825, an Airbus A321neo registered G-TNEI, left Dublin Airport at 8:45 AM. While cruising near Liverpool, the crew squawked 7700, the international code for a general emergency.

Flight tracking data shows the aircraft made a controlled descent to 8,000 feet and held there while the crew assessed the situation with air traffic control. It then continued toward Heathrow at the lower altitude.

The nature of the problem has not been confirmed. British Airways has not said whether it involved pressurisation, engines, or a medical issue. Emergency services at Heathrow were placed on standby as a standard precaution for a 7700 declaration.

The flight landed safely on runway 27L at Heathrow and taxied to a remote stand at Terminal 5.
