Cabin crew rest on the world's longest flights
Singapore Airlines runs the two longest scheduled services in the world, and both cover more than 18 hours in the air.
Singapore Airlines flies the longest scheduled route in the world, linking its Singapore base with New York JFK Airport. The same carrier also operates the second-longest, from Singapore to Newark.
Both sectors are more than 400 nautical miles (800 km) longer than the third-longest route, which runs between Doha and Auckland. Each normally takes over 18 hours to complete.
The two services are flown daily on schedules that fit around one another. Singapore Airlines places more premium cabin seats into the New York area than it does into any other part of the United States, according to the airline.
