Cabo Verde Airlines adds Sal–Recife service from December

Cabo Verde Airlines will add a direct route between Sal and Recife from 12 December, expanding its Brazilian network. It joins the Praia–Recife service the carrier has flown since May, bringing the total to two weekly links between Cape Verde and Brazil. The flights are also meant to feed onward connections to Europe.

The expansion is taking place while the state-owned airline faces financial strain. In July, transport minister João do Carmo said the company's situation was very critical, and that the state could not keep covering its monthly costs indefinitely. Various scenarios for a restructuring were under review, he said.
