Cape Verde's CV Sky takes delivery of third ATR 72-600

CV Sky has added a third ATR 72-600 to its fleet, the first of two aircraft due under a leasing agreement, as the Cape Verdean carrier builds capacity on inter-island services.

CV Sky has taken another ATR 72-600, its third of the type. The turboprop, registered D4-CCP, is the first of two examples joining the fleet under a leasing contract, according to the airline. It joins two ATRs already in service and adds capacity on domestic connections between the islands.

Founded in 2024, the Cape Verdean carrier is based in Praia, on the island of Santiago. It began flying in 2025, initially using leased aircraft with crews and other operational services provided. Since the summer 2026 timetable it has run its own flight operations. Its official name is Linhas Aéreas de Cabo Verde LACV.

Domestic air links carry considerable weight for the island state, which has three airfields and four airports. They give residents access to jobs, education and medical care, and connect the archipelago's economic centres.
