Copenhagen Airport reports record summer passenger numbers

Copenhagen Airport handled 9.9 million passengers across June, July and August, according to the airport, a new summer record. That is 3% more than the same period in 2025 and the busiest summer in the airport's history.

Peter Krogsgaard, the airport's chief commercial officer, said the terminals were busy from early morning until late evening, with more than 100,000 passengers on most days. He compared the daily volume to hosting a Roskilde Festival every day throughout the summer.

Spain remained the most popular destination, with 789,000 passengers travelling between Copenhagen and Spain over the three months, up 3% from last summer. Italy saw stronger growth: 714,000 passengers flew between Denmark and Italy, a 10% increase year on year.

Across the five most popular Mediterranean countries, 2.9 million passengers travelled through Copenhagen during the summer. Those routes were Spain (789,000), Italy (714,000), France (484,000), Greece (456,000) and Turkey (427,000). Around eight out of ten passengers at Copenhagen Airport travel within Europe.
