The proposed takeover of EasyJet by Bidco, a vehicle organised around the investment firm Apollo, is running behind its original schedule. The two parties have agreed to push back the deadline for publishing formal offer documents to no later than October 15.

According to the companies, the delay stems from continuing discussions with aviation authorities that are expected to extend beyond the summer period. Those talks are described as ongoing rather than concluded.

As a result, the shareholder meetings at which EasyJet investors would vote on the transaction have also been rescheduled. They are now expected to take place during the week beginning November 9, rather than at the earlier planned date.

Despite the delay in procedural steps, the overall timetable for completing the deal has not changed. Both companies still expect the transaction to close by the end of the first quarter of 2027, provided that all necessary conditions are met.

No further details were given about the nature of the discussions with regulators or which specific aviation authorities are involved. The companies did not indicate whether further delays could follow if those talks continue past the current extension.
