FLY91 Places $1 Billion Order for 40 ATR 72-600s
Indian regional carrier FLY91 has ordered 40 ATR 72-600 turboprops in a deal worth about $1 billion, with deliveries from 2027 to 2032.
FLY91, a regional airline based in Goa, has placed a firm order for 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft valued at around $1 billion. Announced on September 3, 2026, the deal is the largest ATR order in nearly a decade and the largest ever by a regional airline. Deliveries run from 2027 to 2032. The carrier's fleet will go from six aircraft to 60 within five years. The order also lifts ATR's total intake for 2026 to 54 aircraft, which already surpasses its net orders for all of 2025.
The airline said the expansion reflects confidence in India's underdeveloped regional market. ATR's Mobility Monitor data shows about 4.6 billion intercity journeys are made annually in India, only about 3% of them by air.
FLY91, officially Just Udo Aviation Private Limited, currently operates more than 280 weekly flights connecting 13 destinations. Most are tier 2 and tier 3 cities in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and the Lakshadweep Islands. Founder and CEO Manoj Chacko said the 40-aircraft order is a catalyst for the next phase of expansion, citing the ATR 72-600's operating economics.
