Horizon Air pilots to picket Seattle over stalled contract talks
Horizon Air pilots, represented by Teamsters Local 1224, plan an informational picket at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, accusing the carrier of delaying a collective bargaining agreement. Negotiations have run nearly four years.

Horizon Air pilots will picket at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on October 14, 2026. Teamsters Local 1224 is calling on the airline to stop delaying talks and agree to a contract, and the picket is set to start at 10:30 local time.
The union said the day before that nearly 650 pilots have spent almost four years seeking a collective bargaining agreement covering wages, staffing and training shortages, and operational issues. It accused the carrier of a pattern of mismanagement and corporate greed in the negotiations.
Pilots point to colleagues at sister carrier Alaska Airlines, saying they fly a similar amount but earn less. Their pay remains behind the industry standard, the union said, because of an unwillingness to bargain a fair deal. Horizon Air feeds Alaska Airlines' network in the western United States and flies daily to almost 50 destinations.
In February 2026, the local said its campaign was about accountability and meaningful change, not publicity, and that its members fly a safe, reliable operation under difficult conditions.
