Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport opens new international passenger processing facility

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) has finished a new International Central Processor (ICP) and an upgraded Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility. The airport said the HOK-designed project will improve international travel through greater capacity and efficiency.

The ICP brings together check-in and security for passengers departing from Terminals D and E. Arrivals and departures curbsides were rebuilt to smooth traffic and help people find their way.

Travelers use self-service kiosks and 17 automated security lanes with biometric screening. A centralized immigration and customs hall has upgraded baggage systems. Floor-to-ceiling glass, skylights, and clear sightlines aim to make navigation easier.

The project is part of Houston Airports' international terminal redevelopment program. HOK was design architect, with Stantec as architect of record.
