Icelandair adds Madrid and St. Louis to summer 2027 schedule, expands Southwest partnership
Icelandair will add Madrid and St. Louis to its network for the summer 2027 season and broaden its cooperation with Southwest Airlines, which has a major base in St. Louis.

Icelandair will add Madrid and St. Louis to its summer 2027 schedule, the airline announced. Madrid returns to the carrier's network, with flights set to begin on 9 April 2027 and run through 25 October 2027, operating two to three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The St. Louis service starts on 14 May 2027 and continues until 24 October 2027, with three to four flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Alongside the new North American destination, Icelandair said it is expanding its partnership with Southwest Airlines. Southwest is the largest operator in St. Louis, where it maintains one of its main bases and connecting hubs. The expanded tie-up is intended to give customers of both carriers more convenient connections from points across North America through St. Louis to Iceland and on to Icelandair's European destinations, and to give travellers from Iceland connections via St. Louis to a range of destinations in the United States, with particular emphasis on Texas and neighbouring states.
Icelandair chief commercial officer Tómas Ingason said the airline was pleased to add both cities to its network next summer, describing St. Louis as an exciting addition that is strengthened further by the growing partnership with Southwest.
