KLM to operate 22 A350-900s after earlier shift away from Airbus widebody
Air France-KLM once moved A350s away from KLM and concentrated Boeing 787s at Amsterdam Schiphol. KLM is now preparing to fly 22 A350-900s of its own.

Seven years ago, Air France-KLM pulled the Airbus A350 from KLM's plans. Seven A350-900s intended for the Dutch carrier went to Air France instead, while six Boeing 787s went the other way, grouping the group's Dreamliners at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
That approach has changed. After Air France-KLM's 2023 order for 50 A350-900s and A350-1000s, plus 40 further purchase rights, KLM is preparing to operate 22 A350-900s of its own.
The source links the reversal to noise limits at Schiphol. It gives no timeline for the aircraft's entry into KLM service, and no detail on how the 2023 order will be split between the group's carriers.
