Royal Air Maroc will equip 41 aircraft with SpaceX's Starlink satellite broadband, the airline says, becoming the first carrier in Africa to offer the service. Installations should be finished by early 2027. It will be free for members of the airline's Safar Flyer loyalty program.
The carrier has not said which aircraft types will get the equipment. Its fleet includes 13 Boeing 787s, a mix of -8 and -9 variants, and 47 Boeing 737s: 27 737-800s and 20 737 MAX 8s, with 14 more MAX 8s on order.
Fleet data as of October 2026 put Royal Air Maroc at 76 aircraft, including VIP, cargo and inactive airframes. The airline wants to expand its role as a connector between Africa, Europe and North America. It signalled interest in acquiring 200 aircraft in April 2024, but no orders have followed.
