Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports launch autumn holidays with 95 departures

The two central German airports are handling 95 departures over the first autumn holiday weekend, with Leipzig/Halle accounting for 70 and Dresden 25.

Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports enter the autumn school holidays with 95 departures between them on the weekend of 10 and 11 October. Leipzig/Halle accounts for 70 and Dresden for 25. Saturday has 46 departures scheduled, Sunday 49.

At Leipzig/Halle, Antalya is the busiest destination with 26 departures. Hurghada, Palma de Mallorca and Heraklion follow with seven each, and Frankfurt is served six times. Connections through the Lufthansa hubs reach destinations worldwide, and Vienna is also served at the start of the holidays. Turkey takes the largest share by country with 28 departures, ahead of Greece with 15 and Spain with 12. The airport expects up to 200 weekly departures during the holidays, against up to 146 weekly in this year's summer holidays.

Dresden has 25 departures planned for the start of the break. Frankfurt and Antalya are the most frequent destinations with six each, followed by Munich with five. Palma de Mallorca is served three times, Heraklion twice and Rhodes once. Sky Alps connects Dresden with Bolzano in South Tyrol.

Lufthansa is the most frequently represented carrier in Dresden with eleven departures, and onward travel is available through Frankfurt and Munich. Swiss also serves the Zurich hub at the start of the holidays. Dresden expects up to 94 weekly departures over the autumn break, above the up to 79 weekly in the summer holidays.
