LOT Polish Airlines is now taking part in TSA PreCheck, the expedited screening programme run by the US Transportation Security Administration. The carrier announced the move on Monday, 19 October.

Eligible passengers flying with the airline can use the faster security lanes at participating US airports. They generally do not have to remove shoes or belts, and can leave laptops and permitted liquids in their cabin baggage.

Two conditions apply. Travellers must hold PreCheck eligibility and supply a Known Traveler Number, entered either at booking or no later than check-in. The boarding pass also has to carry the TSA PreCheck marker.

LOT's US network includes New York, Newark, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco, among other destinations.
