Lufthansa Group to extend Economy Basic fare across all European routes
The Lufthansa Group will roll out its Economy Basic fare to every European route from 6 October 2026, according to a notice sent to sales partners. The fare, introduced in April, has so far been sold only on selected routes.
The Lufthansa Group will extend its Economy Basic fare to all European routes from 6 October 2026, according to a notice sent to sales partners. Lufthansa, Lufthansa City Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, Air Dolomiti and Discover Airlines are covered by the change.
The fare launched in April and has so far been offered only on selected routes.
Basic includes one personal item measuring up to 40 by 30 by 15 centimetres. Larger cabin baggage costs extra: at least 15 euros booked online in advance, or 60 euros at the gate.
In the coming months the group also intends to test dynamic pricing for add-ons such as baggage and seat reservations.
