Norwegian adds UK–Oslo winter flights for ski tourism campaign

Norwegian is boosting winter capacity between the UK and Oslo as part of a joint marketing push to draw more British skiers to Norway. Manchester departures rise from two to five a week, with extra London and Edinburgh flights.

Norwegian Air Shuttle is adding winter capacity on its UK to Oslo routes, part of a joint campaign to bring more British skiers to Norway.

Manchester goes from two weekly departures to five, with one of the new services on Sundays aimed at ski holidaymakers. London and Edinburgh will also get more flights than last winter.

The airline is working with Norway Home of Skiing, the resort operator Alpinco and the airport operator Avinor. UK ski specialists Ski Safari, Ski Solutions and Crystal Ski are supporting the effort. The campaign includes digital advertising, consumer events and promotions through tour operators, and presents Norway as an alternative to the Alps.

Norway Home of Skiing is targeting an increase in British guest-nights from 150,000 to 200,000 in the 2026/27 winter season, roughly a third more. Snow conditions, less crowded slopes and the Scandinavian winter are being highlighted to UK travellers.

Magnus Thome Maursund, Norwegian's chief commercial officer, said the extra capacity would help inbound ski tourism and feed into a longer-term push to raise Norway's share of the UK ski market. The partners describe their aim as spanning five to ten years.
