Pittsburgh airport trials four-legged robots in terminal

Pittsburgh International Airport is testing four-legged robots in its Airside Terminal as part of its xBridge innovation programme.

The robots are being evaluated on tasks including monitoring indoor air quality and detecting spills and full trash bins. The airport says they run on adaptive autonomy software from Skild AI.

Fitted with sensors, cameras and AI-driven perception, the machines are built to roam autonomously, flag anomalies and send real-time data to operations staff. The trial is also assessing how well they navigate the terminal's complex environment.
