Swissport opens new cargo operation at Basel-Mulhouse's French side

Swissport has opened a cargo operation in the French section of Euro Airport Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg. The handler has taken a 3,000-square-metre warehouse into service there.

Of that space, 1,000 square metres are set aside as a French customs area. The remaining 2,000 square metres are used for international freight handling. Initially, the operation will focus on handling airline cargo.

The company says the site runs independently, but it is to work closely with the existing cargo handling operation on the Swiss side of the airport.
