Qantas operated two Airbus A380 charter flights carrying the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers to Melbourne for an NFL game.
Qantas flew two Airbus A380 charters bringing NFL teams to Melbourne for a regular-season game. The Los Angeles Rams flew from Los Angeles and the San Francisco 49ers from San Francisco, each covering about 12,900 kilometers. Four pilots and 22 flight attendants worked each flight. Together they carried more than 20 tonnes of equipment and over 2,000 meals, with special menus offering large protein portions for the players. The teams were set to play at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, the first regular NFL game in Australia.
