SalamAir's new CEO plans network expansion

Yaqoob Al Kiyumi took charge of SalamAir on 1 October and plans to keep growing the Omani low-cost carrier, with new markets as a focus.

Al Kiyumi named route network expansion and better international connections for Oman as the priorities for the airline's next stage. In a statement, he said the carrier had a strong foundation and an exciting future, with opportunities to widen its network and improve the travel experience for customers. The growth should also support tourism and the economy in Oman, he said.

No specific new destinations or fleet development details were given. SalamAir operates 18 aircraft, according to the airline. Fleet plans beyond that were not disclosed.
