Shenzhen Airlines to Launch Four-Weekly Shenzhen-Sydney Service in December

Shenzhen Airlines will start flying between Shenzhen and Sydney four times a week from December 14, 2026, according to Sydney Airport. The route will use Airbus A330-300 aircraft, adding roughly 130,000 seats a year and supporting an estimated 100,000 passengers annually.

Flight ZH815 will depart Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport at 0020 local time and arrive in Sydney at 1340. The return flight, ZH816, will leave Sydney at 2230 and land in Shenzhen at 0525 the following day.

Shenzhen Airlines will be the 55th carrier operating at Sydney Airport, a record, and the tenth Chinese-based airline. Sydney Airport CEO Scott Charlton said China remains one of the airport's most important international markets. Chinese nationals are the second-largest international traveler group, up 13.9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026.

Charlton added that the new route gives passengers direct access to Shenzhen and onward connections across the airline's domestic and international network. Shenzhen ranked as Sydney Airport's seventh-largest mainland China destination in 2025.
