Starlux deploys two special-livery A350-1000s on routes to Europe
Taiwan's Starlux Airlines is flying two Airbus A350-1000 jets painted in one-off designs by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, and one of them is now serving a European destination.
Starlux Airlines has painted two Airbus A350-1000s in special liveries designed with Japanese designer Hajime Sorayama, and the Taiwanese carrier is putting them into scheduled service on routes reaching Europe.
The aircraft registered B-58553 is silver and entered service in mid-July. The second jet, B-58554, is gold and has flown scheduled routes since mid-August. Starlux calls the pair Airsorayama, a name that also appears on each fuselage.
Both aircraft have so far been used mainly within Asia and to one destination in the United States. The silver A350-1000's regular routes are Taipei to Tokyo Narita and Taipei to Phoenix. The gold jet also flies the Taipei-Tokyo sector and operates between Taipei and Osaka.
The gold aircraft has been assigned the Taipei-Prague route, with flights listed for September 1, 5, 8, 17, 24 and 29. From October 1 the silver jet takes over the Prague service on a regular basis, flying Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
From October, passengers on flights operated by the two aircraft will also see Airsorayama designs on items used on board, including drinks cups, napkins and menus.
