Stewart Wingate to chair London Gatwick from October 2026
Wingate will take over as chair of the London Gatwick board on 1 October 2026, after Baroness Margaret Ford steps down. He previously led the airport as chief executive for 15 years.
Stewart Wingate will become chair of London Gatwick's board on 1 October 2026, the airport has announced. He succeeds Baroness Margaret Ford, who is retiring. Baroness Ford has chaired the board since November 2023.
Wingate has been managing director of UK Airports for Vinci Airports and GIP since September 2025. He spent 15 years before that as chief executive of London Gatwick. He also sits on the boards of London Gatwick, Edinburgh Airport and Belfast International Airport.
