Surfer says JetBlue made him leave a board behind at check-in
An Ecuadorian surfer says a JetBlue check-in agent required him to remove one of his surfboards before he could fly home, citing the carrier's one-board-per-bag rule.
An Ecuadorian surfer, Jorge Sangachi, ran into a problem at check-in on Tuesday as he tried to fly home to José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport in Ecuador, according to an account of the episode.
Sangachi was travelling with four surfboards. He told a JetBlue Airways customer service agent that he had two. The agent then required him to take one board out of his bag, because the airline's policy permits only one surfboard per bag.
The report does not say where Sangachi was departing from, how the remaining boards were handled, or whether he has asked the airline to review the decision.
