Swiss pilots escalate pressure in stalled contract talks

More than a thousand Swiss pilots have signed an open letter to management as negotiations over a new collective labour agreement, running since April, remain without results.

Swiss pilots are increasing pressure on the airline in talks over a new collective labour agreement. The Aeropers union said more than a thousand members signed an open letter to management, which union president Janos Fazekas has handed over.

Aeropers says the pilots want more predictability in their social lives, a workload they can sustain over the long term, and market-rate pay.

The union also cites a pilot shortage at Swiss. It says that shortage forces flights to go to wet-lease partners or be cancelled.

Talks began in April and have produced no results since, the union said.
