The largest US naval air stations by land area

A ranking of United States Navy shore installations by size, covering the airfields and ranges that support naval aviation beyond the carrier fleet.

The United States Navy runs one of the largest military aviation networks in the world, spanning carrier-based fighter squadrons, weapons testing and pilot training.

Carriers are often called floating airfields, but the service also keeps extensive shore-based aviation infrastructure. Some naval aviation installations take in hundreds of thousands of acres, including training ranges, testing facilities and controlled airspace used to prepare pilots and engineers.
