Third Arrest in FLYT Aviation Student Funds Case

A former employee of a Peachtree City flight school has been arrested over alleged financial misconduct involving student funds. Teresa Roberson, who was financial account director at FLYT Aviation, turned herself in to police on Wednesday. She faces 20 counts of theft by conversion and one count under Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

Her arrest follows similar charges filed last week against former owners Alex Hamlin and Harlan Hamlin, ages 34 and 59. Both men were booked into the Fayette County Jail on September 4.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation began assisting Peachtree City police in February 2025 after complaints surfaced about financial discrepancies in student accounts. Those complaints started shortly after the school was sold to a new owner in October 2024. Investigators allege that money from multiple student accounts was misappropriated while the previous owners controlled the school, including funds tied to aviation scholarships and financing programs.

Authorities say the investigation remains active. Once it concludes, the case is expected to be handed over to prosecutors in the Griffin Judicial Circuit.
