Volaris expands US network with five new Guadalajara routes
Volaris is adding Boston Logan and Nashville to its US network from Guadalajara, and moving up the start dates of planned Atlanta and Washington Dulles routes. Raleigh-Durham service was announced separately.
Volaris is adding two US destinations from its Guadalajara base. Boston Logan and Nashville, Tennessee both start Oct. 15.
The Mexican budget carrier also said it will move up two previously announced routes, to Atlanta and Washington Dulles, to the same date. Those had first been made public in August.
Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina announced last week that Volaris will fly to Guadalajara from Oct. 16. That gives the airline three new US markets in two days, alongside the two accelerated services.
Holger Blankenstein, Volaris executive vice president of commercial and operations, described Guadalajara as one of the pillars of the airline's connectivity strategy. He said the new US cities would let customers travel more, reach new destinations and visit relatives, with accessible fares and direct flights.
Tickets for all five routes are on sale.
