Incident Summary
A Cessna 152 collided with terrain after departing runway 29L during landing. The pilot had executed a go-around on the first approach because of difficulty maintaining the runway heading. On the second approach, the aircraft was aligned slightly left of the centerline, and the pilot elected to land.
Sequence of Events
The aircraft touched down with its right wheel on the runway surface and the left wheel on the shoulder. During the landing rollout, the airplane crossed a perpendicular taxiway. Subsequently, the nose wheel dropped into a small drainage ditch, resulting in a collision with terrain.
