What happened
The operator reported that the aircraft was descending through an altitude of 26,000 feet when it encountered severe weather conditions. The flight environment included heavy rain, hail, and moderate turbulence. In response to the deteriorating conditions, the flight crew activated the fasten seat belt sign and instructed the flight attendants to take their assigned seats.
Before the flight attendant located in the aft galley could reach her seat, she was thrown by the turbulence. As a result of this incident, she sustained an injury to her ankle.
