What happened
On February 3, 2014, a Boeing 737-500 was involved in a taxiway incident at Warsaw Chopin Airport (EPWA). Following landing, the crew was taxiing toward parking stand 13R via taxiway M2. During the maneuver, the aircraft deviated from the designated path, taxiing along the right side of the taxiway centerline. This movement brought the aircraft to a dangerously close proximity to an adjacent service road. At the time of the incident, no vehicles were present on the service road.
The investigation
The investigation, which concluded in February 2016, examined the flight reports and the sequence of the aircraft's movement on the ground. The inquiry focused on the deviation from the taxiway markings and the distance maintained from the service road during the taxiing phase.
