What happened

On the night of 17 February 2020, a Cessna 150 was performing a local flight under visual flight rules. The aircraft had departed from Saint-Lazare Airport, Quebec, carrying one pilot and one passenger.

While operating approximately 1.75 NM east of the Montréal/Les Cèdres aerodrome (CSS3), the aircraft struck two power lines and subsequently impacted the ground. The impact resulted in the destruction of the aircraft and caused two fatalities.
