Occurrence
On 21 April 2023, a private Cessna 150G departed on a local visual flight rules flight from a private field in Saint-Urbain-Premier, Quebec. The aircraft carried a student pilot and a passenger. While flying at very low altitude over a residence in the municipality of Saint-Rémi, Quebec, the airplane performed a low-altitude manoeuvre. During this manoeuvre, it struck a power line and subsequently crashed into the driveway of a house. A fire erupted following the impact, and the aircraft was destroyed. The two occupants were extricated from the wreckage with serious injuries and were transported to a hospital.
Investigation
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada conducted a class 4 investigation into the occurrence. Class 4 investigations are limited in scope and, while the final report may contain limited analysis, it does not include findings or recommendations. The investigation focused on documenting the events and conditions surrounding the accident. No probable cause was determined as part of this limited investigation.
