What happened
A cargo flight originating from Mexico City-Benito Juarez Airport was en route to Los Angeles via Monterrey, Mexico, when the accident occurred. The flight, which included five crew members, was performing a scheduled cargo service.
During the night, the aircraft was on its final approach to Monterrey-General Mariano Escobedo Airport. The flight crew encountered challenging meteorological conditions, characterized by broken skies at 600 feet and the presence of cumulonimbus clouds. While positioned approximately 2 km from the runway threshold, the aircraft received clearance to land on runway 11.
Shortly after this clearance, the aircraft experienced a left roll and descended into a motorway located roughly 700 meters before the runway threshold. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. The accident claimed the lives of all five crew members and one person traveling in a vehicle on the motorway.
Findings
