What happened
During an approach to runway 11/29, a four-engine aircraft impacted the ground roughly two kilometers short of the runway threshold. The flight was operating on behalf of the Government of the State of Moxico, traveling from Luanda to Luena. At the time of the accident, the area was experiencing intense rainfall.
The crash resulted in five fatalities, consisting of two crew members and three passengers. No survivors were reported from the wreckage.
Findings
- The aircraft was operating in conditions of heavy rain during the final approach phase.
- The impact occurred prior to reaching the runway environment.
