What happened
During the takeoff roll at 18:58 local time, a mechanical problem developed with the right main landing gear. Following rotation, the flight crew found that the landing gear could not be retracted during the initial climb phase. After notifying air traffic control of the situation, the crew performed several holding patterns over the area to reduce the aircraft's weight by burning fuel.
Approximately one hour later, the aircraft returned to Krasnoyarsk-Severny Airport. The pilot attempted an emergency landing on a grassy field situated roughly 100 meters to the right of the primary runway. The aircraft touched down at a speed of 205 km/h and traveled approximately 70 meters before the right main gear collapsed. This collapse caused the aircraft to roll for several dozen meters, eventually coming to a stop as it caught fire.
Findings
While all 53 occupants managed to evacuate the cabin, the fire resulted in significant injuries. Three passengers sustained serious burns during the incident, and two fatalities occurred when two of those individuals died from their injuries several days after the accident.
