What happened
On the date of the incident, an unidentified aircraft was involved in a fatal crash near the Kandahar region. During its flight, the aircraft was targeted and struck by a surface-to-air missile. The impact caused the aircraft to descend and crash at the site.
There were no survivors from the event. The total number of fatalities was five crew members, all of whom were on board the aircraft at the time of the strike.

Official investigations into the destruction of the aircraft concluded that the primary reason for the crash was that the aircraft was shot down by a surface-to-air missile.
