What happened

During the initial climb phase following departure from runway 20 at Zacates Airport, the flight crew identified mechanical issues involving the left engine. After notifying air traffic control of the technical difficulties, the crew initiated an approach to land on runway 02.

While attempting an emergency landing, the aircraft impacted soft, dry ground situated to the southeast of the airfield. The impact occurred approximately one minute after the departure. A post-crash fire broke out, resulting in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were six fatalities among the occupants, including members of the Federal Police and a public minister.
