What happened
During a night flight departing from Monterrey-General Mariano Escobido Airport, a twin-engine aircraft experienced a catastrophic failure during the climb phase. The flight was being operated to transport the Attorney General of the Republic, accompanied by seven passengers and two pilots.
Shortly after takeoff, the crew communicated that the aircraft had reached an altitude of 3,000 feet. Following this transmission, the plane entered an uncontrolled descent. The aircraft struck a field situated approximately 4 km from the airport. The impact occurred roughly one minute after the departure from the runway. The accident resulted in nine fatalities, with no survivors among the crew or passengers.
Findings
Following the impact, the investigation focused on the transition from a steady climb to an uncommanded descent. The aircraft's descent became unrecoverable almost immediately after reaching the 3,000-foot mark, leading to the crash in the nearby field.
