What happened
During an approach to the Salvador-Dois de Julho Airport, a twin engine airplane experienced a loss of control. The aircraft descended uncontrollably and struck the ground a few kilometers before reaching the runway threshold.
Upon impact, the airframe was completely destroyed. There were six fatalities recorded among the occupants of the plane, with no survivors reported from the crash site.
Findings
The investigation into the incident focused on the period leading up to the loss of control during the final approach phase. While the specific mechanical or environmental triggers are being assessed, it is confirmed that the aircraft failed to maintain a stabilized flight path, leading to the impact short of the landing strip.
