What happened
While performing a takeoff roll on runway 31 at Bogotá-El Dorado Airport, the crew of the aircraft experienced two distinct explosions at a speed of 130 knots. Following these sounds, the aircraft began to vibrate significantly. In response to the instability, the captain elected to abort the takeoff and applied emergency braking.
Despite the attempt to stop, the aircraft could not halt before the end of the runway. The plane overran the paved surface, traveling a distance of 497 metres while rolling. During this excursion, the nose gear was lost. The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss, but all six occupants managed to exit the plane without any injuries.
